About Sandra Neumann Wilderman
ARTIST STATEMENT
I am currently creating a series of paintings inspired by friends and family. These narrative paintings are about relationships between people, their objects and what they value. The still lifes, both imagined and real, include hand-made objects, creatures with wings and personal symbolism. I believe Balthus described this process best when he said, "Painting is the passage from chaos of the emotions to the order of the possible". You can view this ongoing series in the New Works Gallery.
BIOGRAPHY
Sandra Neumann Wilderman was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and lived in the Midwest until 2003 when she moved to Arizona.
She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Northern Illinois University, School of Art in DeKalb, Illinois.
One of Wilderman's approaches to creating art is to pour layers of acrylic or watercolor onto wet paper or canvas creating biomorphic shapes and linear sharpness. Wilderman said she "finds the spontaneity, the fluidity and the stylistic eclecticism of pouring acrylic and watercolor to be a freeing and spiritual experience. And it is through this process that I have found my voice".
Wilderman is represented by Vision Gallery in Chandler, Arizona. Her corporate collectors include Intel Corporation in Chandler, Arizona.
She accepts commissions and teaches watermedia classes and private lessons for adults and children. For more information contact the artist.
