ARTIST STATEMENT One of my approaches to painting is to pour layers of acrylics or watercolor onto watercolor paper or canvas, creating organic shapes and linear sharpness. After painting directly for more than thirty years, I find the spontaneity, the fluidity and the stylistic eclecticism of pouring paint to be a freeing and spiritual experience. And it is through this process that I have found my voice. More recently, I created a series of narrative still life paintings, inspired by friends and family. My painting process includes a combination of pouring and painting directly and oil mixed media collage.
